Erna Brand

Erna Brand (born July 19, 1895 in Ligist ; † October 31, 1984 ) was a German musicologist .

Erna Brand (also Brand-Seltei), one of the few musicologists of her time, made merits in researching the history of the art of singing, especially of female singers. She was the great niece of the Hungarian singer Aglaja Orgeni , the first female professor at the Dresden Conservatory, about whom she wrote a biography in 1931. Another focus of his work was the biography of the composer Max Reger .
