Ernest Akubuor Debrah

Ernest Akubuor Debrah (born June 3, 1947 in Tanoso , † April 6, 2016 in Adenta ) was a Ghanaian politician . Debrah was Minister for Food and Agriculture in the government of President John Agyekum Kufuor .

Debrah was born in Tanoso in the Brong-Ahafo region . He went to Secondary School in Sunyani between 1961 and 1966 and later enrolled at the Ghana National College in Cape Coast . In 1968 he completed his studies here with the Advanced Level Certificate. Between 1968 and 1972 Debrah studied at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi Land Economy and graduated with a Bachelor (Hons.).

From 1972 Debrah worked in Sunyani in the Lands Department as an advisor to the government and local institutions. Between 1977 and 2000 Debrah worked at Social Security Bank Ltd (SSB) (now SG-SSB). Here he rose to the position of chief manager.

Between February 2001 and January 2004 he was Regional Minister of the Brong-Ahafo Region in the first term of President Kufuor and between February 2004 and January 2005 he was Regional Minister for the Northern Region . In February 2005, appointed him President Kufuor in the second term of office as Minister of Food and Agriculture ( Food & Agriculture ).

Debrah was married and had five children.
