Ernest Hall Templin

Ernest Hall Templin (born March 20, 1899 in Kansas City (Missouri) , † July 20, 1961 in Paris ) was an American Romanist and Hispanist .

Life

Templin studied at Stanford University and did military service in France. From 1923 to 1924 he studied at the University in Madrid . He received his doctorate from Stanford University in 1926 with the thesis The Carolingian tradition in the Spanish drama of the golden age (excluding Lope de Vega) and taught at the University of California, Los Angeles from 1926 , most recently as a professor of Spanish.
