Ernest Preston (born August 23, 1901 in Middlesbrough ; † May 9, 1966 ibid) was an English football player .
Career
Preston was active as an amateur for South Bank in the Northern Football League , in the final game of the FA Amateur Cup in 1922, however, he was not part of the squad. Towards the end of the 1922/23 season, Preston helped out in the Football League Third Division North at Durham City and came as a left back at Hugh Elliott's side to eight league appearances when the team finished the season in last place. As a result, Preston was still active for South Bank and came in March 1928 in a 2-1 victory for the English amateur national team against Wales for use.
