Ernesto Azzini (born October 17, 1885 in Rodigo , † July 14, 1923 in Milan ) was an Italian cyclist .

Azzini was the brother of professional cyclists Luigi Azzini and Giuseppe Azzini . In 1910 , Azzini was the first Italian cyclist to win a stage of the Tour de France . In the same year he also won a stage of the Giro d'Italia 1910 . He won his second stage of this tour in 1912 . His nickname was El du meter . Azzini was able to achieve a total of nine daily victories in important races.

In 1914 Azzini was drafted as a soldier and took part in the First World War. In 1919 he started racing again, but his body was weakened from years of military service. In 1923 he died of tuberculosis , as did his younger brother Giuseppe four years later.
