Vanessa Mercedes Patricia Wolf (born May 4, 1969 in Stuttgart ) is a German theater scholar and theater director .

Vanessa Wolf is the daughter of Swiss Elfriede Wolf (née Wyss) and the Austrian publisher Roland Wolf, founder of the Olympic Sports Library, the IFK-Institut für Kulturförderung Verlag and the German Children's Fund

She grew up in Munich and studied theater studies (Magister Artium) at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich , accompanied by a study visit to the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute , New York , USA . She began her career as a theater director during her studies with numerous artistic productions.

Parallel to her artistic career, she got involved in development aid early on and was a board member of Youth Ending Hunger eV (YEH) . In particular, it enabled the establishment and construction of a primary school in Orissa, India, and represented the YEH at the Children's Summit in Ankara, Turkey in 1995, thus supporting the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and the UN Action Plan.

She has a daughter.
