Silwana Blagoewa made her first appearance in the Biathlon World Cup in the late 1980s . At the Biathlon World Championships in Lahti in 1991 , she won the silver medal behind the representation from the USSR in a team with Marija Manolowa , Nadeschda Alexiewa and Iwa Karagiosowa . Another high point in her career was her participation in the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville , where the Bulgarian, after finishing 25th in the individual, eighth in the sprint, and with Alexieva and Karagiosova as the starting runners in the relay race as fourth place, just missed a medal. In Antholz she was able to finish ninth in an individual for the first time in a pure World Cup race among the top ten. At the Biathlon World Championships in 1993 in Borovets , Blagojewa was used in the relay and was eighth with this. After the 1992/93 season Blagoewa ended her career.
