Nadezhda Alexiewa ( Bulgarian Надежда Алексиева ; born August 14, 1969 ) is a former Bulgarian biathlete .

Nadezhda Alexiewa from Sofia has been involved in biathlon since 1986 and has also competed in the biathlon world cup since that year . For the next almost ten years, the Bulgarian was among the world's best in her sport. She had her best year in the 1987/1988 season , when she was third in the overall ranking of the competition behind Anne Elvebakk and Elin Kristiansen . Since the Biathlon World Championships in Feistritz in 1989 , she has regularly participated in Biathlon World Championships . There she won with Zwetana Krastewa and Marija Manolowa behind the Russians the silver medal with the relay. With the team, which also included Iwa Schkodrewa , she missed another medal in fourth. In 1990 the season was fourth, but the Bulgarian team won bronze in Oslo . The following year Alexieva was not part of the season, but won silver with the team. The 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville , where women’s biathlon was Olympic for the first time, brought very good results but no medals . In the sprint the Bulgarian missed a medal in fourth place by just five seconds, in the individual she was fifth, 15 seconds behind the medal ranks. Even with the relay, the fourth-placed one missed a medal by just one place.

Since the following season , Alexieva's achievements have declined noticeably. At the 1993 World Championships in Borovets , she was only used in the season that finished eighth. At the 1994 Winter Olympics from Lillehammer from Bulgaria in the individual only 47th was the season was even only 13 at her last World Championships 1995 in Antholz Alexiewa could once again build on old achievements in ninth in the Sprint.
