Ernesto Gándara Camou

Ernesto Gándara Camou (born September 22, 1960 in Hermosillo , Sonora ) is a Mexican politician and current mayor of Hermosillo.

Ernesto Camou was born in 1960 in Hermosillo, the capital of the state of Sonora, as the son of the then mayor Augusto Gándara Laborín. He studied law at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México , where he received his bachelor's degree . He obtained his master's degree from the University of Paris II .

Gándara, who came into politics through the youth organization of the Partido Revolucionario Institucional , held various posts at federal and state level from 1991 before he took over the office of mayor of his native city on September 16, 2006. One of the achievements of his tenure so far is the improvement of the city's water supply.

Gándara is married and has three daughters.
