Serious Range

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Ernst route was a driving and weather tunnel in the hard coal area of the Döhlen basin in the area of the city of Freital in Saxony . In particular, it was used to ventilate the mine field on the left of the Weißeritz , which belonged to the Zauckerode Royal Coal Works .

The route was named after the mountain manager Ernst Wilhelm Lindig, son of the factor Ernst Friedrich Wilhelm Lindig , who died on May 7, 1845 .

history

The Ernst route was driven from 1845 to 1846 when the mining industry came closer and closer to the safety pillar set on the Weißeritz. Driven as a daily fall route, it followed the falling seam exactly at a distance of 100 laughs from the course of the Weißeritz river. To improve the natural flow of weather, the Ernst route had a weather oven that was used until the ventilator was built on the Döhlen weather shaft in 1858. In addition, the Ernst route was also used to drive the teams.

During the Weißeritz flood on July 29 and 30, 1897, the water masses penetrated the pit field via the Ernst route, but the pinge that had formed was quickly sealed.

The Ernst route remained open as an escape route until mining to the left of the Weißeritz was closed in 1959.
