Ernst August von der Schulenburg

Ernst August von der Schulenburg , since 1713 Freiherr von der Schulenburg , (born September 3, 1692 ; † August 20, 1743 ) was an electoral brigadier of Brunswick-Lüneburg and chief of infantry regiment No. 11-B .

His parents were Lieutenant General Alexander von der Schulenburg (1662-1733) and his wife Charlotte Anna Sophie von Melville (1670-1724).

He joined the Kurdish-Lüneburg military at a young age and rose to major there by 1726. In 1735 he became a colonel and in 1738 chief of Infantry Regiment No. 11-B. He became a brigadier in 1743 before he died a few days after his wife Henriette von Belling . The marriage was childless.

He inherited the Habighorst and Feuerschützbostel estate from his maternal uncle, Major General Georg Ernst von Melville . The major general died without an heir in 1742 and therefore designated his sister's sons to be heirs in his will. After Ernst August's death, his brother Friedrich Wilhelm (1699–1764) inherited .
