Ernst Bürki

Ernst Bürki (born August 10, 1882 in Grossaffoltern ; † February 9, 1966 in Thun ) was a Swiss master butcher and politician ( BGB ).

Career

Bürki was established as a butcher in Thun from 1905. From 1921 he was President of the Association of Swiss Master Butchers and was made an honorary member after leaving office. He was also President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Canton of Bern from 1940 to 1945.

From 1919 to 1923 he was a local councilor in Thun, then from 1922 he was the Bernese grand councilor from 1931 to 1951 a national councilor .
