Ernst Bardenhewer

Ernst Bardenhewer (born March 6, 1893 in Bonn , † March 18, 1964 in Bad Godesberg ) was a German lawyer and administrative judge, from 1950 to 1958 he was President of the Hessian Administrative Court .

Bardenhewer studied law and graduated in 1919 with a doctorate in law. jur. from. He became court trainee in 1914, court assistant in 1921, and from 1922 he worked for the Prussian district government in Cologne, where he became a government assessor in 1923. From 1925 he worked for the government in Arnsberg , where he was appointed a councilor in 1926. From 1933 he was with the government in Schneidemühl , from 1937 in Wiesbaden . Here he became government director in 1945. After Heinrich Noelle was promoted from deputy district president to district president in 1948 , Berdenhewer became permanent representative of the district president. After leaving the regional council, Bruno Wachsmann became his successor. From May 1, 1950 until his retirement on March 31, 1958, he was President of the Administrative Court of the State of Hesse. During his tenure, the court was significantly enlarged. When he took office, it consisted of two full-time higher administrative judges and four higher regional judges who also spoke law in the administrative court. A second Senate was established on October 1, 1951. Bardenhewer now headed the first Senate, the second Senate was headed by a Senate President. In 1953 the number of full-time judges was increased to eight.
