Ernst Christoph Steinhäußer
Ernst Christoph Steinhäußer (* 1731 in Pforzheim ; † March 6, 1811 in Durlach ) was Wardein of Baden and Mayor of Durlach. Steinhäußer, whose father was mayor in Pforzheim, had learned the trade of goldsmith. Margrave Karl Friedrich appointed him wardein in 1761. In this task he received a salary of 400 guilders per year, which was later increased to 500 guilders. After the mint in Durlach was closed in 1779, he received a waiting allowance of 300 guilders. He remained active as a mint technology advisor for the margrave; later he also became mayor of Durlach.
