Ernst Christoph Suttner
Ernst Christoph Suttner (born October 4, 1933 in Regensburg ) is a German Roman Catholic church historian .
Life
He studied at the Pontificium Collegium Germanicum et Hungaricum de Urbe and at the Collegium Russicum in Rome . From 1975 to 2002 he taught as a university professor of Patrology and Eastern Church Studies at the University of Vienna , where he also held the position of Dean of the Catholic Theological Faculty around 1984 . He is a board member of the Pro Oriente Foundation . From 1993 to 1999 he also worked in German-speaking pastoral care in Moscow . The Abbot Emmanuel Heufelder Prize of Niederaltaich Abbey was awarded to him in 1998. He is an honorary doctor from the Universities of Cluj-Napoca , Arad and Alba Iulia .
