Ernst Goverts

Ernst Goverts (born December 31, 1851 in Hamburg ; † September 23, 1932 there ) was a judge and member of the Hamburg parliament .

Life

Goverts studied law in Bonn , Berlin and most recently in Leipzig . On December 16, 1876, he passed the lawyer examination at the appellate court in Lübeck and was subsequently admitted to the bar in Hamburg. He spent the next two years traveling and in January 1879 took up a position as assistant actuary at the commercial court. In October 1879 he became a public prosecutor. For magistrate Goverts was appointed on 4 February 1881 to the provincial judge on 14 October 1889 and on March 6, 1899. Director of the Regional Court .

Goverts was lieutenant in the reserve of the hussar regiment "Emperor Franz Josef of Austria, King of Hungary" (Schleswig-Holsteinisches) No. 16 . From 1898 to 1910 Goverts was a member of the Hamburg parliament.

He was married to Caroline Marie de Chapeaurouge (* 1858 Akyab ), daughter of the Hamburg Senator Charles Ami de Chapeaurouge, and had seven children with her. Govert's sister Olga was married to a son of Mayor Heinrich Kellinghusen .
