Ernst Julius Berg (born February 8, 1871 in Östersund , Sweden, † September 9, 1941 in Schenectady ) was an American radio pioneer.

He studied in Stockholm and began as an electrical engineer at General Electric , initially as an assistant to Charles P. Steinmetz . He then joined the electrical engineering department at Union College in Schenectady. In 1906 he married Gwendoline O'Brien. In 1909 he became the head of the electrical engineering department at the University of Illinois . In 1913 he returned to Union College, where he became dean of the electrical engineering department.

He developed the first two-way radiotelephone in the United States. In the field of circuit analysis he made Oliver Heaviside's operator calculus known. His brother, Eskil Berg († 1935) dealt with the electric propulsion of ships.
