Ernst König (chemist)

Ernst König (born September 13, 1869 in Flensburg , † October 29, 1924 in Höchst ) was a German chemist.

König studied medicine in Kiel and switched to chemistry in Leipzig. In 1891 he received his doctorate in chemistry in Leipzig and was an assistant there, but in 1893 he went to the central laboratory of the Hoechst paintworks . From 1902 he was head of the photography department and from 1911 of the dye works (with ax) and from 1918 he was back in the central scientific laboratory.

At Hoechst he worked on photochemistry and dyes. In 1892, König developed the photographic paper Holsatio . In 1904 he developed a process for three-color photography with Homolta. He brought Léon Didier's Pinatypie process to market maturity at Hoechst.
