Louis Harris (born January 18, 1906 in New York , † December 6, 1991 in Woodland Hills , United States ) was an American film producer who was nominated for an Oscar in 1945 .

Life

With the music - Short Mardi Gras 1943 on the Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday) in New Orleans Harris first appeared as a producer in appearance. This was followed in the same year by the musical romance Caribbean Romance with Eric Blore and Olga San Juan, the second short film that is one of Paramount's musical parade films. In 1944 Harris worked in the musical comedy Halfway to Heaven for the first time with Noel Madison and again with Betty Jane Rhodes and Johnny Johnston , as in Mardi Gras .

Louis Harris and Bombalera were nominated for an Oscar in the category “Best Short Film” (2 film roles) at the 1945 Academy Awards, but had to win Gordon Hollingshead and the winning film I Won't Play! give up. He also worked on Bombalera with Noel Madison, who directed, and Olga San Juan and Johnny Johnston, who starred.

He then produced the short films Boogie Woogie (director: Noel Madison), You Hit the Spot and, in October 1945, Hollywood Victory Caravan with Robert Benchley , Humphrey Bogart and Carmen Cavallaro .

Louis Harris died in December 1991, but what he did professionally and otherwise after the production of his last film in 1945 is in the dark.
