Ernst Kiesling

Karl August Friedrich Ernst Kiesling (born October 21, 1851 in Berlin , † 1929 in Leipzig ) was a German painter and illustrator.

Life

Ernst Kiesling studied from 1869 to 1872 at the Kunstgewerbeschule in Berlin under Professor Lechner and exhibited for the first time in 1874 at the Berlin academy exhibitions . From 1873 to 1874 he continued his education in Munich. He returned to Berlin and lived at Alte Jacobstrasse 145 in 1880. From 1881 he lived in Leipzig, where he mainly worked as an illustrator. He also created decorative murals for private houses and public buildings and has also been an art reviewer for daily newspapers since 1893.
