Ernst C. Kochsiek (born March 27, 1935 - † December 17, 2017 ) was a German master piano maker . He was a sought-after piano tuner for the concert grand pianists of famous and internationally performing pianists : Martha Argerich , Wilhelm Backhaus , Alfred Brendel , Rudolf Buchbinder , Friedrich Gulda , Wilhelm Kempff , Ewa Kupiec , Gerhard Oppitz , Maurizio Pollini and others. a.

For many years he ensured the perfect sound of the concert grand piano at the Hessischer Rundfunk (33 years), at the Alte Oper Frankfurt (18 years), at the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival and at the Salzburg Festival .

For many years he was also responsible for the Festburg Concerts in Frankfurt .

Kochsiek was considered one of the best piano tuners in Germany. The concert pianist Rudolf Buchbinder recognized him as “one of the best tuners ever”.
