Ernst Leberecht Semper
Ernst Leberecht Semper (born June 1, 1722 in Heidewilxen , today Polish: Wilczyn; † March 8, 1758 Landeshut in Silesia ) was a German Lutheran clergyman and song writer.
Ernst Leberecht Semper's father was a preacher in Heidewilxen in the Principality of Oels . After attending grammar school in Breslau , Semper studied theology in Jena from 1741 to 1744 . He then became pastor in Obernigk and in 1749 second deacon in Landeshut in Silesia. A few weeks after he was appointed archdeacon, Semper died at the age of 36.
Semper was friends with Christian Samuel Ulber , who in 1763 revised poems by Semper and mixed them with his own poems under the title The God Pleading and Praising Voices of Devotion in Hamburg.
