Ernst Maurer (politician)

Ernst Maurer (born October 25, 1947 Vienna ; † September 6, 2011 ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ). From 1994 to 2010 he was a member of the Vienna State Parliament and City Council .

education and profession

Ernst Maurer attended a commercial academy after primary school and the lower grades of a secondary school . He then studied at the University of World Trade . From 1969 he was an employee of the Chamber of Labor and Employees for Vienna in the economic policy department. In 1972 he received his doctorate in commercial science and since then has had the academic degree Dkfm. Dr. From 1991 he was head of the local politics department in the Chamber of Labor and Employees. On September 6th, 2011 he died after a long and serious illness at the age of 64.

Ernst Maurer started his political career as a district councilor in Favoriten (1978–1994). From 1993 to 1994 he was also deputy district chairman. In 1994 he moved as a member of the Vienna State Parliament and City Council to which he was a member until 2010.
