Ernst Piller

Ernst Piller (born October 25, 1939 in Draßburg ) is a former Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and trade union secretary. Piller was a member of the Burgenland Landtag and from 1989 to 1994 a member of the Austrian National Council .

Piller attended compulsory school and completed a commercial apprenticeship at the Burgenland consumer cooperative . He then worked as a salesman in the consumer cooperative in Burgenland and in 1958 became trade union secretary of the ÖGB in the Burgenland state executive, whereupon he attended the social academy of the chamber for workers and employees for Vienna from 1961 to 1962 .

In the political sphere, Piller was initially involved in the Burgenland Chamber Council from 1969 to 1973 and was its Vice-President from 1973 to 1983. In 1983 he took over the office of President of the Chamber for Workers and Salaried Employees for Burgenland. Piller also represented the SPÖ from 1977 to 1987 in the Eisenstadt municipal council , was a member of the state parliament from 1982 to 1989 and in the national council from January 13, 1989 to November 6, 1994.
