Wilhelm Borngässer

Wilhelm Borngässer (born August 14, 1879 in Schwabsburg , Rheinhessen, † May 9, 1963 ) was a German music teacher, conductor and composer.

Life

Borngässer was born to the farmer Johannes Borngässer (1854-1887) and Anna Maria Blum (1853-1905). He attended the teachers' seminar in Alzey and studied music with Wilibald Nagel , Christian Heim , Willem de Haan and Arnold Mendelssohn .

From 1905 on, in addition to his work as a teacher for music educators, he was organist at the Protestant town church and at the Darmstadt music association. From 1908 he was the conductor of the church choir for the city church in Darmstadt .
