Ernst Reinstorf

Ernst Reinstorf (born September 19, 1868 in Bütlingen , † April 5, 1960 in Hamburg-Blankenese ) was a German teacher , local researcher and writer .

Life

Ernst Reinstorf grew up in Bütlingen (today part of the municipality of Tespe). From 1890 to 1900 he worked as a teacher in Lüneburg and Alvern . Between 1900 and 1930 he was the rector of the school in Hamburg-Wilhelmsburg . Between 1900 and 1945 he was chairman of the Wilhelmsburg Association for Local History

Ernst Reinstorf is the author of numerous books on local and local history. He is also considered the founder of civil family research in northern Germany. He was an honorary member of the Hamburg Genealogical Society . In 1958 he received the Lappenberg Medal in silver from the Association for Hamburg History . The Ernst Reinstorf School, a secondary and secondary school in Marschacht, and the Reinstorfweg in Hamburg-Wilhelmsburg are named after Ernst Reinstorf.
