Ernst Sander , until 1940 under the maiden name Ernst Sabinski , (born March 14, 1916 in Tsingtau ; † 1990 ) was a German SS-Oberscharführer and employed with the Gestapo in Lower Saxony .

Life

After finishing primary school in Deutsch-Eylau (1922–1930), Sander learned to be an electrician. Before completing his electrician apprenticeship in 1934, he joined the SS in 1933 . From 1934 to 1936 he belonged to the Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler and then in Magdeburg to the plant security of the brown coal-gasoline company . From 1939 he worked for the Gestapo and worked at the Stapo control centers in Prague and Danzig and the Gotenhafen border commissioner . From January 1944 to April 1945 he worked for the Gestapo in Lower Saxony, where he was responsible for sabotage matters in the Mittelwerk . Sander mistreated prisoners during interrogations in the Dora-Mittelbau concentration camp and the Boelcke-Kaserne subcamp in order to uncover members of resistance groups and sabotage during rocket production.

After the end of the war, Sander, alias Sabinski, went into hiding and ran an electrical installation business in Bottrop . In the Dora Trial in Essen , which began on November 17, 1967, Sander was indicted together with Helmut Bischoff , the former KdS of the restricted area Mittelbau and the former concentration camp guard Erwin Busta . On May 8, 1970, Sander was sentenced to eight and a half years in prison in the Dora trial in Essen. However, Sander did not have to serve the prison sentence.
