Ernst Viktor Johannes Lukas

Ernst Viktor Johannes Lukas (born October 7, 1901 in Fischern ; † August 4, 1980 in Hamburg ) was a German Africanist .

Life

After completing his doctorate ( studies on Kanuri grammar and literature using unedited texts ) as a Dr. phil. in Vienna in 1925 and his habilitation in Hamburg in 1936, he taught there from 1938 to 1943 as a private lecturer for African languages ​​and cultures, from 1951 to 1954 as an adjunct professor for African languages ​​and from 1954 to 1970 as a full professor for African languages ​​and cultures.
