Ernstein is to Möckmühler district Züttlingen counting hamlet in the district of Heilbronn in northern Baden-Württemberg . The place got its name from the nearby Erenstein Castle .

location

Ernstein is just under two kilometers southeast of Züttlingen, about one kilometer west of the “Möckmühl” exit of the A 81 .

history

The place goes back to an estate originally called brickworks or brickworks farm, which was significantly expanded to a size of 247 acres under the barons of Ellrichshausen through clearing in the years 1850 to 1853. The place got its current name after the nearby Erenstein Castle , which was probably destroyed in the 15th century . Ernstein today consists of a few farms that extend on both sides along Kreßbacher Strasse (K 2027).
