Erol Aksoy

Erol Aksoy (* 1946 in Denizli ) is a Turkish entrepreneur and founder of the television channel Show TV .

biography

Erol was the first of two children to the Turk Fehmi Kaya and his Orthodox Greek wife Stavrinia Melek. Erol's mother originally comes from the Arnavutköy district of Istanbul . He attended elementary and middle school in Denizli.

In 1981 he took over the İktisat Bank in Denizli, which previously belonged to the Ergür family. During the economic crisis in Turkey in 2001, the İktisat Bank was foreclosed .

On March 1, 1992 he founded the television station Show TV together with Haldun Simavi. Erol was the broadcaster's managing director until 1999 and sold it to Mehmet Emin Karamehmet in 2002.
