The 1997 First League was after a one-year break the third professional season of the second highest Kazakh division in men's football .

mode

The nine clubs were divided into three groups of three teams each. These played against each other twice. The best two clubs qualified for the promotion round, in which each team competed once against the other. Been Moved up Uralez Uralsk and Nasha Kampanija Aqmola .
