The Wach- und lock company Vienna GmbH was founded in 1904 as the first Viennese guard and lock company and was one of the first private guard and security companies worldwide . Cooperation with the public services was sought from the start, but initially met with reservations.

Porter services , theater and fire protection, parking lot surveillance and airport security checks are also offered .

In 1975 the guard and lock company merged with six other security services or providers of security technology to form the Association of Security Companies Austria (VSÖ) in order to develop superordinate guidelines and to regularly check the members for these strict standards.
