Erwin and Gisela von Steiner Foundation

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Erwin-und-Gisela-von-Steiner-Foundation or Steiner-Foundation was founded in 1990 with its seat in the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich to provide financial support for talented artists. The donor of the fortune was Gisela von Steiner, the widow of the painter Erwin von Steiner .

The foundation supports individual artists working in Germany in their current projects with a desired, if not absolutely necessary, connection to Munich and the Munich Academy of Fine Arts. A board of trustees is responsible for selecting the applications and for managing the foundation's assets. This consists of a representative of the Academy, the Academy Association, the Steiner Foundation and the estate administrator.
