Erwin von Steinbach Prize
The Erwin von Steinbach Prize , donated in 1935 by the FVS Foundation (since 1994 Alfred Toepfer FVS Foundation ), was intended for the “Alemannic folkism” in Alsace, Switzerland and the German Empire. The award was made by the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg . It is named after the medieval sculptor Erwin von Steinbach .

- 1941: Paul Coelestin Ettighoffer , writer; Josef Simon , composer, choir director
- 1942: Alfred Huggenberger , writer (Switzerland)
- 1943: Karl Hoenn , high school professor , ancient historian
Members of the Board of Trustees of the Erwin von Steinbach Prize were Kurt Bauch (V), Franz Beyerle (V), Gerhard Boerlin, Karl Götz, Robert Gradmann , Theodor Haering , Wilhelm Kapp , Friedrich Maurer , Friedrich Metz (V), Joseph Müller-Blattau (V), Georg Schmückle , Gerhard Schumann and Otto Wacker .
