Erwin Brug
Erwin Brug (born May 15, 1938 in Forchheim ) is a German emeritus for surgery .
Life
Apart from a semester at the University of Vienna , Brug studied medicine at the Friedrich-Alexander University in Erlangen. In 1962 he became a member of the Baruthia Corps . In Erlangen he also went through surgical training with Gerd Hegemann , Heinrich Beck and Jürgen Geldmacher. In 1975 he qualified as a professor in trauma surgery and hand surgery . After three years as a private lecturer , he was appointed associate professor in 1978 . The Westphalian Wilhelms University appointed him as head of the new and initially dependent department within the surgical clinic. When he the reputation of the University of Marburg refused, his position became the Chair upgraded. Reluctant to open osteosynthesis , Brug has always championed intramedullary nails and external fixators . Brug retired in 2003 and has been living in Franconia again since 2007 .
