Erwin Christmann
Erwin Christmann (born August 24, 1929 in Vienna ; † December 4, 2000 there ) was an Austrian composer and musician .
He initially learned the trade of a machine fitter and later worked for an insurance company. With his brother Franz (1934–1998) he formed the Duo Mayer in 1959 and made his first appearances with the harmonica . From 1960 he worked as the duo Christmann-Merta with the guitarist Günther Merta . As a composer he mostly wrote from his own texts, mostly Viennese songs .
Christmann is buried in the Jedleseer Friedhof (Gr. 17, R. 11, No. 1).
