Erwin Horn
Erwin Horn (born May 2, 1929 in Annerod ; † May 13, 2006 ) was a German politician ( SPD ).
Politics and profession
Horn, who was first a grammar school teacher and then head of the study seminar in Giessen, was a member of the German Bundestag from 1969 to 1998 . With the exception of the 1983 election, in which he was elected via the state list of Hesse, he always entered the Bundestag as a directly elected member of the Gießen constituency . From 1980 to 1983 he was deputy chairman of the defense committee and then until 1990 chairman of the SPD in the defense committee. From 1977 to 1988 he was a member of the SPD parliamentary group executive. In the 1980s he was also a member of the Parliamentary Assembly of NATO , where he was chairman of the military committee and from 1985 to 1988 he headed the group of social democrats and socialists.
From 1962 to 1988 he was sub-district chairman of the SPD in Gießen and from 1960 to 1976 belonged to the district council of the district of Gießen .
