Erwin Volz

Erwin Volz (born January 14, 1949 in Neunkirchen ) is a German politician ( SPD ).

Volz attended the Protestant elementary school in Hangard and then the State Realgymnasium Neunkirchen, where he also passed the school leaving examination. At the Educational Science University of Rhineland-Palatinate , he studied pedagogy with the main subjects political science and sport. He then worked as a teacher in Rhineland-Palatinate.

In 1975 Volz joined the SPD. He is a member of the board of directors of the local SPD association in his home community of Nohfelden and from 1988 was chairman of the Nohfelden SPD association. From 1989 he was a member of the Nohfeld local and municipal council and first alderman of the municipality. On February 1, 1991, he moved up for Hans Georg Wagner in the Saarland state parliament . After a successful re-election (1994) he decided not to run again and resigned his mandate in August 1999 shortly before the end of the legislative period; Horst Hornberger moved up for him . In the state parliament, Volz was a member of the committees for the environment as well as for education and culture, and he was also the chairman of the sub-committee for auditing.

Volz is married and has one child. Among other things, he volunteers for the art center Bosener Mühle , of which he is chairman.
