The length of the abdomen ( abdomen ) in males between 20.0 and 23.5 millimeters and in females between 18.5 and 23.5 millimeters is initially brownish yellow in both sexes. Particularly noticeable is a side black band extending from the third to the tenth segment . It is interrupted at the beginning of segments four to six and at the beginning of the tenth. The dorsal keel is black. With age, the males darken until they are finally almost black. The females are a little darker from the start, but do not darken. The black color of the dorsal keel also widened noticeably in the females on segments eight and nine. The thorax is also black in old males. In young animals and females it is brown-yellow. The wings are transparent, except for a small brownish yellow spot. The pterostigma, which is between three and four millimeters in size, is yellow-brown, while the membranes are brown. The length of the hind wings in the males is between 24.0 and 26.0 millimeters; in the female 26.0 millimeters.
