Let there be light is a Christmas album by Udo Jürgens . It was released on November 17, 2003 on the Ariola record label ( Sony Music ). The album achieved over 10,000 sales.
In 2010 a new edition of the album appeared, on which a duet with Hape Kerkeling can be heard.
History of origin
Let there be light contains five traditional Christmas carols as well as eight original compositions. These were created while Udo Jürgens was on winter vacation in Tyrol. Wolfgang Hofer contributed to the album as a copywriter . The titles were recorded by the orchestra of the Deutsche Oper Berlin , the Pepe Lienhard Orchestra and Udo Jürgens on the piano, the album was completed by mid-March 2003.
The video material on a DVD that was also released was shot with an ORF television team in the Arlberg mountain landscape in Vorarlberg / Austria.
