Esko Olavi Rautionaho (born September 23, 1950 in Rovaniemi ) is a former Finnish ski jumper .

Career

Rautionaho, who started for the club Ounasvaaran Hiihtoseura from his hometown, took part regularly in the Four Hills Tournament from January 1972 . At the 1972 Winter Olympics in Sapporo , Japan , he was ninth on the large hill and 45th place on the normal hill. At the Four Hills Tournament 1973/74 he achieved the best result of his career with 10th place in the overall tournament ranking. At the ski flying week in Planica he reached his greatest distance with 161 meters and took second place in the overall ranking behind Walter Steiner .

In 1976 he was nominated again for the Olympic Winter Games and reached 11th place on the normal and 12th place on the large hill in Innsbruck . On March 9, 1980, he took part in a ski jumping World Cup for the first time and finished 13th on the large hill in Lahti . With the 2 World Cup points he gained, he finished 92nd in the overall ranking at the end of the 1979/80 World Cup season . However, it was his only world cup competition. After the season he ended his active ski jumping career at the age of 29.
