The Estádio Anísio Haddad is a football stadium in the Brazilian city of São José do Rio Preto in the state of São Paulo . Its popular name is Rio Pretão , Portuguese for "great black river". It is the home ground of the Rio Preto Esporte Clube .

history

In 1965, the Rio Preto EC sold its original home, the Estádio Coronel Victor Brito Bastos in the Redentora district, and acquired a vacant property in the Universitária district to the south, now Jardim Aclimação, for a new stadium. This was named after the former club president Anísio Haddad. On April 21, 1968, the new stadium was inaugurated with a test match against the AA Ponte Preta that was lost 4-1. The first goal scored Dicá (Ponte Preta) in the 15th minute of the game. Nei scored the first goal for Rio Preto in the 60th minute after a free kick.
