The Estadio Olímpico Félix Sánchez is a football stadium with an athletics facility in Santo Domingo , the capital of the Dominican Republic . It was built on the occasion of the 12th Central American and Caribbean Games in 1974. The stadium is part of a sports complex called Centro Olímpico Juan Pablo Duarte, which was built between 1966 and 1974 .
The stadium is mainly used for the games of the national soccer team of the Dominican Republic as well as the local soccer clubs Club Barcelona Atlético and FC Bauger . It is also used for athletics competitions and concerts . The capacity for sporting events is 27,000 spectators, but up to 35,000 have been in the stadium at times. 60,000 spectators are possible for concerts.
At the XIV Pan-American Games in 2003 , athletics competitions and football games were held here.
The former Estadio Olímpico Juan Pablo Duarte was renamed in 2004. It bears its current name after Félix Sánchez , the 400-meter hurdles Olympic champion in 2004 and 2012 .

The complex has 18 major sports facilities. With 20 million DOP construction costs (1974), it now includes the stadium and a. an athletics track , a multi-purpose sports hall , a swimming stadium , a cycling track , software and baseball fields , two volleyball halls , a judo hall and a tennis court on an area of 722,000 square meters .
For the Pan American Games in 2003 , the facility was renovated and expanded for 449.7 million DOPs (approx. 9 million euros ).
