The Estadio de Béisbol Monterrey is a baseball stadium in Monterrey in the Mexican state of Nuevo León . The stadium opened in July 1990.

The Estadio de Béisbol Monterrey is the largest ballpark in Mexico. It was built in 1990 by the owner of the Sultanes de Monterrey , José Maiz García , former player of the Little League world champions team, Industriales de Monterrey from 1957 and 1958. One of the intentions of the new stadium building was to bring an MLB team to Monterrey . In addition to baseball , the stadium is also used for special events.
In 1996, a series of three games between the San Diego Padres and the New York Mets from Major League Baseball was held at Estadio de Béisbol Monterrey . This was the first ever MLB team meeting in Mexico. In addition, the Colorado Rockies and the San Diego Padres completed a game in the stadium in April 1999.
The stadium is in the immediate vicinity of the Estadio Universitario .
