Ángel Víctor Paz Estenssoro (born October 2, 1907 in Tarija ; † June 7, 2001 ibid) was a Bolivian politician. Together with Hernán Siles Zuazo he founded the Movimiento Nacionalista Revolucionario (MNR), a centralist party. In April 1952, the MNR led a revolution in Bolivia to put an end to frequent military coups and dictatorships. Estenssoro became the first president in the new government. His first term lasted from 1952 to 1956. He was not allowed to be re-elected and Siles was president from 1956 to 1960.

In 1960, Paz was re-elected President. On November 4, 1964, the MNR government was overthrown in a military coup. The rule of the military did not end until 1982. At this point in time the political paths of Paz and Siles had separated. Siles, who took a more left-wing approach, came back to power in 1982, but Paz won the 1985 presidential election and was president for the third time from 1985 to 1989.

His successor Jaime Paz Zamora is the son of a cousin. His eldest son Rodrigo Paz Pereira has been mayor of Tarija since 2015.
