Esther Aghatise (born April 15, 1985 ) is a former Nigerian athlete who specializes in the long jump .
Athletic career
Esther Aghatise gained her first international experience in 2002 when she won the bronze medal at the Junior World Championships in Kingston with a width of 6.34 m. She then took part in the Commonwealth Games in Manchester , where she finished eighth with 6.01 m. The following year she won the African Games in Abuja with a jump of 6.58 m and then won the bronze medal at the Afro-Asian Games in Hyderabad with 6.30 m behind the Indian Anju Bobby George and Lerma Gabito from the Philippines . In 2006 she again took part in the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne , where she was seventh with 6.47 m and then ended her career as a track and field athlete at the age of only 20.
In 2003, 2005 and 2006 Aghatise became the Nigerian champion in the long jump.
