The Esther Harbor is a small side bay of Venus Bay on the north coast of King George Iceland in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It is located immediately west of Pyrites Island and south of Gam Point .
The bay has been known to US and British seal hunters since at least 1821. It is named after the sealer Esther from Boston , who operated in the waters around the South Shetland Islands between 1820 and 1921.
