Eszter Bálint (born July 7, 1966 in Budapest ) is a Hungarian singer , violinist and actress .

She started her career as a member of the avant-garde theater scene before getting her first acting role in Jim Jarmusch's film Stranger than Paradise .

In the 1990s she focused her interest more on music and released her first album, Flicker , in 1999 . Mud followed in 2004 . She has also appeared on albums by Michael Gira ( Angels of Light ), John Lurie ( The Legendary Marvin Pontiac: Greatest Hits ) and Marc Ribot ( Muy Divertido! And Your Turn ). In the 2006 US documentary Wanderlust, she used archival material to portray an Eva .
