η 2 Hydri ( Eta 2 Hydri , short η 2 Hyi ), also cataloged as HD 11977 , is a star in the constellation Hydrus (Little Water Snake ) about 220 light years away . He has a companion with the systematic name η 2 Hydri b , which could be an exoplanet . It orbits the central star with an orbital period of 711 days with a major semi-axis of about 2  astronomical units and has a mass of at least about 6.5 Jupiter's masses.
