Etagere

A cake stand ( fr. Étagère "frame") is an open, shelf-like frame for books or crockery with at least two or three levels for mounting on the wall, and a flexible, aufhängbares frame for normally cosmetics or laundry or decorative, since A table top popular in the Baroque era for fruits , chocolates and the like.

In addition, there are portable tiered stands for transporting food in the catering trade : several filled plates can be stored on top of each other to save space and transported to their destination. Larger, sometimes head-high versions for kitchens or bakeries are not carried, but can be rolled. Similar racks are also used in self-service restaurants and canteens for holding used dishes.
